mod_jk.so problem

hello

my environment is thus:

tomcat 3.2
apache 1.3.14
redhat 6.2

this is my problem:

on issuing the command: /usr/local/apache/bin/httpd start

i get this error:

Syntax error on line 8 of
/usr/local/jakarta-tomcat-3.2/conf/mod_jk.conf-auto:
Cannot load /usr/local/apache/libexec/mod_jk.so into server:
/usr/local/apache/libexec/mod_jk.so: undefined symbol: map_name_at

line 8 of my mod_jk.conf-auto looks like this:

LoadModule jk_module libexec/mod_jk.so

any ideas?
