In general the performace of apache on NT since IBM joined
the fray was supposed to have improved.  My understanding
is that if you're not an expert IIS/NT performance tuner than
the performance will probably be comparable.

I would discourage use of Tomcat for static page serving as
apache is supposed to be much faster for that.  Secondly, it
is probably reasonable to expect C code (apache) to be faster
than Java code (tomcat) not to mention it should take a great
deal less resources.

If performance is indeed your concern I'd use the new mod_jk
with Apache and tomcat 3.2.1.  This should give you the most
stability and performance balance.

Emptor Cavet: its been a while since I've used NT so you might
want to ask some Windows people.  (I avoid Microsoft for
stability reasons).
