IIS + Tomcat on two different machines

I want to set up a system that has IIS as the webserver running a DMZ 
machine (outside the firewall) and Tomcat running on a machine inside the 
firewall.  The only information I found refers to setting up Tomcat on the 
same machine where IIS is running.

Is what I'm trying possible?   If so is there a reference that will help me 
along?
