I have configured Apache to protect the directory TOMCAT_HOME\webapps\examples\servlets where the links to the actual servlets are stored in the page index.html. The authentication works fine. But if I try to retrieve the authenticated user info in a servlet, everything is null, the getRemoteUser(), getUserPrincipal(), getAuthType() all return null. What could be the reason?
