As has been answered here many, many, many, many times before (and
therefore is in the archive many, many, many, many times) - Java 1.3 has a
bug that whenever it sees a user log out, it quits, regardless of whether or
not that user launched the JVM. There are two workarounds:
        1. Use Java1.2
        2. Wrapper Java1.3 that catches all OS service signals and don't
pass the one about a user logging out to the JVM. There are several
programs that do this for you. One example is

Subject: Trouble running Jakarta as a Service

I'm running Jakarta-Tomcat under Win 2000 as a service using the service
wrapper provided in the 3.2.1 distribution.

The problem is: whenever someone logs out of the machine, the service shuts
down. I have tried running the service as both a system account, and as a
user. If I restart the machine, or start the service remotely, the service
remains up until someone logs in and then logs out.

Please help... other than this problem the Jakarta has performed flawlessly.

Thanks,
-Phillip
