OS: Mandrake Linux v 9.1 TOMCAT: 4.1.24 JAVA: j2sdk1.4.1_02 System: Pentium II 350 Mhz, 128Mb ram.
1) When I try to restart the tomcat4 service it crashes and throws a java connectionexception error.? It works fine if I start it as a service ie: #service tomcat4 start.
It works fine if I stop the service then start the service after waiting a minute.
It will run again after I manually delete the lock file, then start the service.
2) I can not get Tomcat4 to work if I change TOMCAT_USER to tomcat4?
Tomcat 4 is a user.
Tomcat4 is part of the tomcat4 group.
The service seems to start but all connections to port 8080 are refused. As though tomact isn't running.
Is there anyplace to look for potential problems?
Thanks in advance for your help.
