# ls -l /usr/local/apache/modules/mod_jk.so
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root system 449550 Nov 11 15:59
/usr/local/apache/modules/
mod_jk.so
so prot is 755 like it should be. Unfortunately, there's no other useful
error log
info that I can see.

What do you get when you:
$ ls -l /usr/local/apache/modules/mod_jk.so
Also, is there further error information? How about in the error log?
