Howdy, I've had more than my share of grief with -server. We had intermittent internal crashes with -server on JDK 1.3.0, 1.3.1, 1.4.0, and 1.4.1. Maybe 1.4.2 is better but I've yet to try. This is on Solaris 8 and 9 with all the latest patches.
