Same line of question, how do tomcat web admins present URL's? Is there
a defacto standard for tomcat web developers that only upper, lower, or
camel notation.... From and end users perspective, having to alter case
for a web URL is a hassle, and in most cases would yield a 404 because
of disregard of said case. Just looking for insight on how people
handle the general computer user out there.
Well, in general, users aren't expected to remember URLs. Hostnames are case-insensitive, and that's typically all you're ever expected to remember. Just type in "www.google.com" and you'll get google. Everything else is just bookmarks, right?
If a user happens to "remember" a URL and types is in correctly, there's no expectation that the site will magically figure out what they wanted to type.
