linux user

I 've installed Tomcat 4.1  on a linux ( redhat 8 ) machine and I need to
run unix commands and scripts using jsp/java : I use , for example,
Runtime.getRuntime().exec( command ) where command is a script or a linux
command.
Which user executes the command and may I change it ?
