Phill, unless I am mistaken, you do not need a connector element in TC for in-process calls to happen..I've had a look around various posts and configs, and there is no mention of needing to tweak server.xml for JNI to work. Unfortunately I cannot verify this myself, as I am using Linux as my OS and JNI in-process is not possible at the moment.
