Do you really want the Host appBase to be the same as the context docBase? > <Resources >className="org.apache.naming.resources.FileDirContext" allowLinking="true" At one I point I thought this was no longer needed in tomcat5, and was replaced by an allowLinking attribute elsewhere (the Context itself maybe)? It definitely changed from tomcat 4 to tomcat 5. Our internet access is messed up at the moment so I don't have access to tomcat's configuration reference, but take a look there.
