Hi,
With one tomcat instance ( = 1 JVM) running 10 apps, if one causes the
machine to crash for whatever reason (malicious code, infinite loop,
OutOfMemoryError, etc.), the other 9 are hosed as well.  Thus separation
is frequently desirable.
