had i more time to direct towards looking at the source of the cgiservlet i'd hope to come up with a more concrete answer. i do know that it did work with tomcat 4.x.x (can't recall the version now) but is not working with the cgiservlet that is bundled with the five series. there are differences in the size of the jar files too...hm. oh well. no one specifically wrote the cgiservlet / jar file that is distributed?
