I've spent a lot of time on this and still not managed to get it working. I can actually get the tomcat started inprocess and access it through port 8080 but I get the same errors as you have here and cant access it through the JNI channel.
The only thing I can think that it could be is to do with the threads and processes settings in httpd.conf but i've not heard any success stories at all on non windows platforms despite asking on this list several times.
