Hi -- Thank you Jake! The http://jakarta.apache.org/commons/daemon/procrun.html web page did the trick. It describes the registry parameters and changing the 'Java' to the full path of jre.dll will change the JVM. (I had come close -- I was changing it to the path of java.exe, which did not work).
I still haven't figured out what the "default JVM" is, but at least I can change it if I need to. How about looking at the service.bat and seeing what it does. Set JAVA_HOME system variable.
