I've missed the begining of this but in most environments I have worked in tomcat/app servers are used behind webservers, so connectors or proxies are important to me. Although tomcat might be great standalone this is not the issue - it is more an issue of intergrating app server XYZ into a URL space - this is equally applicable to python based stuff, mod_perl, PHP or weblogic as app servers then to be heavy weight (CPU/Memory) compared to a webserver. > PS: Is it possible to get mod_proxy to do this raw forwarding > perferctly? > (SSL? Client certificates? persistent connections, > pipelining, ALL headers > and whatnots?) .. mod_proxy cannot forward SSL connections.
