How to get tomcat 5.5.1 to re-start

Can anyone/anybody please tell me just how exactly I can go about 
getting Tomcat version 5.5.1 to re-start it's context???!! It doesn't 
seem to wanna do it thru the old method of editing the server.xml file 
with <DefaultContext reloadable="true" />!!
