What informix db version are you working with? I do not know how to get the serial value. I use an informix driver that supports connection pooling and I'm not familiar with the ifmxStatement. Depending on the informix version, I suggest utilizing a type 4 informix jdbc driver(search). That may help although you may need to change some code such as the ifmxStatement. I'm in a bit over my head on this one.
