Hi,
We've been running a website on standalone Tomcat 3.2.x for half a
year now. It's been quite satisfactory in terms of stability under load.
In the lab, response time did not start to steepen noticable until past 50
concurrent users on one instance of the application under Tomcat.
In all this time we've only had one or two "strange" problems (like
intemittent 500 errors) that were resolved by shutting down Tomcat, cleaning
out the work directory, and restarting Tomcat.
