Thanks for the reply. Mine is not just a web application, this is a part of
product and will be distributed to various clients. So I cant assume
anything about client. So I cant use NFS. And introducing database for this
small feature is not feasible. The solution has to be with in the web
application boundaries only. I appreciate if you can suggest some ideas.

As one poster mentioned, NFS is one option.  Using a shared database is
another.  There are pros and cons to either approach.
