Hi I solved the problem by using the -user option. Actually, I've to run the jsvc by calling sudo ... cause this is how the security model of Ubuntu Linux, based on Debian, is:
cd $CATALINA_HOME ./bin/jsvc -Djava.endorsed.dirs=./common/endorsed -cp ./bin/bootstrap.jar -outfile ./logs/catalina.out -errfile ./logs/catalina.err -user myusername org.apache.catalina.startup.Bootstrap Is this acceptabe? Or It's better to create a Tomcat user and run Tomcat by specifying "user Tomcat"? Regards, Behrang S.
