I don't have to have it.  Tomcat is *doing* it.  Forget the DB. If I 
have a list of 500 items.  And I call 4 taglibs for each item.  This 
yields a HUGE page slowdown.

Very pathetic actually.   I can't believe anyone finds this acceptable.
