Well you can also have a look at the AppPerfect DeploySuite which supports monitoring of nearly ALL JMX enabled servers. I have successfully monitored Tomcat upto version 5.0.28 with it. It doesn't work with version 5.5.x currently but they will certainly come up with that in the newer versions.
