hi Chuck, thanks for the heads up. my Tomcat 4.1 and Tomcat 5.5 instances are separate and each are sitting on a different machine. as well, the actual URLs to these text files are different on each instance (so they are not requesting the same exact URL and should not be using cache for the second txt file request).
