OK, You place the context.xml inside $tomcat_home/conf. Contents of that file is something like this:
<!-- The contents of this file will be loaded for each web application --> <Context allowLinking="true"> <!-- Default set of monitored resources --> <WatchedResource>WEB-INF/web.xml</WatchedResource> <!-- Uncomment this to disable session persistence across Tomcat restarts --> <!--<Manager pathname="" />--> </Context> The allowLinking attribute defined this way allows all our application use symbolic links. Hope this helps.
