mod_jk and mod_rewrite? Do they work together?

Does anyone have an answer to this question?

I'm attempting to map my root web directory to a particular jsp page.
For example,
I would like the URL

www.byteme.com

to resolve to

www.byteme.com/context1/jsp/index.jsp


Any ideas?
