Tomcat 3.2.1 does not end correctly

Hi, i'm using tomcat 3.2.1 on a solaris machine. Every time i use shutdown.sh, a java process remains in the process list, so that i cannot start tomcat again.   Does anyone know how to solve the problem?   Dietmar
