Hiya Patrick,
You might want to pick up a book on JSP/Servlet programming. The question
you're asking is not specific to Tomcat, it's a "how do I program web
applications in Java?" question.
I used "Web Development with JSP" by Manning press. I'm sure Amazon has
about a million of them. Make sure you read the "Reader reviews" sections.
