Thanks I'll give blackdown a try and let you know. 
Strange thing is, before I thought I had error message
related to this sudden shutdown issue, however when I
deleted the logs, and it shutdown again this time, no
new log files were created.  Not sure if that's
because I deleted the logs while Tomcat was running
and it can not recreate them or not.
