I was just going on the tomcat documentation which implies that mod_jk and
mod_jserv are incompatible. I took this to mean that you cannot have both
of them mounted of the same apache instance. I assume it has something to
do with the fact that they both implement the ajp12 protocol.
If they are compatible (ie can both be mounted on on the same apache
instance as long as they the same virtual host does not attempt to use both
of them) then that would definitely solve my problem. Does anyone know
whether this would work?
