I *personally* use RedHat (7.1 at the moment), but that's more a matter of
habit and personal preference than anything specific about it's Java
support.  The reason for that is most Linux distros can run any of the
commonly available JDKs, so it becomes more a matter of which thread
libraries your distro is currently using, and how good their general
support is.

As a pratical matter, Java and Linux have been a solid combination for a
*long* time.  In a past life, I managed a small Internet webapp (Linux +
Apache + JServ at the time) that went over 14 months without having to be
rebooted -- and then it was only because we were moving to a different
ISP.
