Tomcat: Getting Server Process information

Is it possible to see how many sessions are existing
at a certain time for a web application.  Also is it
possible to find out exactly how many database
connections are made for a web application.  i have
attempted to create session specific database
connections, but I want to see that everything is
working properly.
