Hi, As Release Manager for Tomcat 3.3, I'm the one in charge of the date. At this point, there is a planned beta 2. The goal is to have reasonable, documentation available. At the moment, there is still too much incorrect information present to release beta 2. When beta 2 will be released is a little bit up in the air. Progress depends a lot on my available time and that of the other committers. Other demands have eaten into the time I had planned for Tomcat 3.3, so this week is probably not practical for beta 2. Hopefully some time next week. Currently no new features are being added Tomcat 3.3. Only bug fixes and minor usability improvements are being incorporated. Thus, the current "nightly" build should be fairly close to what the final Tomcat will be. It is currently available at: <http://jakarta.apache.org/builds/jakarta-tomcat/nightly-3.3/> Note that the "nightly" builds are off-line and it is uncertain when they will be back on-line. For now, I will post updated builds manually as needed. Following beta 2, assuming we can go for at least a couple of weeks with only very minor code updates, I will propose Tomcat 3.3 be released as final. Documentation will continue to be updated during this period. If too big or too many changes are needed, then a beta 3 will be proposed, etc. Sorry I can't give you a date for the Tomcat 3.3 final release other than to suggest it will likely happen sometime in September. I don't see something major happening that would push it beyond that. If you are using Tomcat 3.3 and encounter a problem, please do you best to make sure its due to a bug in Tomcat 3.3. If so, please log a bug in the Bugzilla database (see <http://jakarta.apache.org/site/bugs.html>). Also please include enough detail in the report to the bug make clear and hopefully easy to duplicate. If at all possible, attach a small web application the demonstrates the bug. I'm afraid we just don't have much time to spend trying to duplicate bugs. Especially if we don't have much more to go on than "I tried this and it didn't work".
