Two possible reasons that it stopped working:
1. Something else is already using port 80 (netstat -a will tell
you if there is, probably Apache, IIS, iPlanet, etc)
2. You don't have permissions to use port 80, only applicable on
Unix. If you are using a Unix OS then you must be root to use any port
below 1024.

PS - The 80 is still in the URL, the web browsers are nice and use it as a
default value if no port is specified (i.e. www.myserver.com ==
www.myserver.com:80)
