Reason that Jspc does not produce .class File?

Hallo tomcat-user,

  What is the reason that Jspc only produces a .java File not a .class
  File ?? I added the line :

  clc.setJavaCompiler(new org.apache.jasper.compiler.SunJavaCompiler());

  and it works, but is there a possibility to set this compiler
  without patching the source ??
