To find out if this is a pure tomcat problem or a problem of the connector you might try to use apj 13 with tc 4.0 as described in:
http://jakarta.apache.org/~hgomez/ajp13-tc4.0/ I havn't tried it, so don't ask me about details. BTW.: Does PU, ParCo, Prompt mean something to you ?
