Unfortunately, Tomcat only knows what the TCP/IP socket tells it.  And in
the case of a proxy in front of your server, that's going to be the
proxy's IP address :-(.

You should investigate the configuration of your proxy server to see if it
can forward the original user's IP adddress on somehow (perhaps by adding
a header or something).  Then, you could write a Filter to capture it, or
use a modified version of the access logger that could print it out.
