I'm not positive that it was the same issue, but I recently saw a patch to
the webapp class loader that had the comment "fixes Cocoon2 working with
Tomcat 4". This fix is in the nightly builds for the HEAD branch, and
will be in Tomcat 4.0.3 when that is released.
