What distro of Linux are you using?

Is CATALINA_HOME set?
IS JAVA_HOME set?
what about CATALINA_BASE?

Also, I don't personally like running things as root - you might want to
install your webapps as another user (I just called it appuser), and su to
that before executing tomcat.

hello, im trying to start tomcat on linux boot...

but $CATALINA_HOME/bin/startup.sh didnt work on the rc.local

it only works when I type it on prompt..

anyone can help ?
