I am running tomcat 4.0.3 rpm on Redhat Linux 7.1. Every so often, tomcat updates all the files in its folder structure (/var/tomcat4/) to be owned by the tomcat user and readonly for everyone else. The problem being that when I want to modify/overwrite anyone of these files, I have to go into the linux server and chmod for every file/folder. This happens all day long. Is there a way to turn this off?
