2 daft questions ...

1) whats a post like this doing in the tomcat forum ?

2) why WHY WHY ????  would you format a disk to be used by
     linux as a windows format ?

Try ext2 / ext3 / any of the other native formats !
They are alot better !

NTFS is an 'experimental' filing system under linux ATM IIRC
