There used to be binaries for a number of platforms (including Solaris
6 and 8) on the jakarta/tomcat site, but apparently they're not there
now (it looks like this change happened when the new versions of
Tomcat and Jakarat-Tomcat-Connectors were put up there). For example,
if you go to:

http://jakarta.apache.org/builds/jakarta-tomcat-connectors/jk/

it says:

This directory will be shortly populated with nigtly and release
buillds of the mod_jk connector for Tomcat 3.3 / 4.x

Similar for:

http://jakarta.apache.org/builds/jakarta-tomcat-connectors/webapp/
