I asked about this before but it is according to spec so I did this instead.
<error-page>
<exception-type>java.lang.Exception</exception-type>
<location>/errors/test.html</location>
</error-page>
This is basically the same as a 500 with any type of exception catched and
presented with a better formatted page.
