it isn't that complicated of a setup. i wrote a howto for Apache 2.0.39 and Tomcat 4.0.4 for Window$ 2000 here: http://nature.berkeley.edu/~salazar/apache_tomcat.html and yes, Tomcat 4 has some very nice features for Window$. i believe they have done an excellent job catering to Window users (well, except for not compiling mod_jk, but i guess they believe serious Apache/Tomcat/Window users need to buy VisualC++).
i would go ahead and install apache 2.0.40, i don't believe the setup/howto would be any different. now that the wonderful dbeutner (whoever he/she may be) at http://www.acg-gmbh.de/mod_jk/ has compiled the mod_jk.dll for Apache 2.0.40, i'll be upgrading very soon. -- carrie s.
