The HTTP connector is for Tomcat to run in stand-alone mode.  It's called a
"Connector", but the things it is connecting are Tomcat and the client
browser, not Tomcat and Apache (or IIS).  So in your scenario, you won't use
Tomcat's HTTP connector.
