Maven would simplify this greatly. If I thought that the main developers would even think about maven I would do this for you. The last post I found regarding this was in July, but I saw no developer buy-in on this idea. I don't shy away from contributing - be it code, docs or ideas to a project I like (see Maven, Torque, Turbine), and if it's a project I have used myself (Turbine) I don't hesitate to be helpful to anyone with a question that I can answer. I'm not a USER (use it and go on), I'm part of a community. I haven't been a member of the Tomcat community for a while because it became extremely difficult to build, keep up with what libs I had to download and configure in order to build and Tomcat has always just worked for me.
