The Tomcat stderr and stdout logs are in the APACHE_HOME\logs directory.
Most of the Tomcat messages and JK2 messages are put into the apache logs
access.log and error.log. the TOMCAT_HOME\logs directory contains logs
for each of your webapps.
There is a windows program called tail.exe that will let you watch those
log files in real time. Or you could install cygwin, it also has a
program called tail that will do the same thing. I suggest a search at
google for tail.exe it's free.

Subject: another question about system.out.print message?
Hi Robert,
I have another question about system.out.print. I don't know where I can
see
these messages when tomcat4 is invoked by JK2(win2K, apache2, TC4). Should
I
configure somewhere so that I can have a log file? or is it possible for
me
to get a system moniter window to see the out messages in real time?
Thanks in advance!
Annie

Subject: RE: where to set CATALINA_OPTS?
Hi everyone,
Thanks for help. I am using Win2k, JK2, Apache2, and TC4. I have tried
every
way you recommended. Setting CATALINA_OPTS in system environment variable,
or setting it in worker2.properties, or setting it in catalina.bat in
$CATALINA_HOME/bin. All failed. One thing came to my mind. I am using
JSDK1.3, not 1.4, Does it matter? Is CATALINA_OPTS recognizable by JVM
residing in JSDK1.3?
Best Regards,
Annie

You can create a script file "$CATALINA_HOME/bin/setenv.sh". If you set
the
CATALINA_OPTS variable in this script, it will be picked up by the main
startup script.
