If I was going to do this from scratch, I'd probabaly write the JSP in xml format and use a filter (or, even, cocoon http://xml.apache.org/cocoon/) to transform it into either HTML, or EXCEL output. (cocoon has a serializer based on POI http://jakarta.apache.org/poi/).
The other suggestions are probably a lot less work for you, seeing as how you've already got your JSP page.
