Hi,
That's not a bad initial design.

A better alternative would be to have an Authentication filter (mapped
to /*), a monitor filter (mapped to /*), and your servlet mapped to
/ServletMappedName.  That'll make things a lot simpler, decoupled,
robust, etc.
